Social Media is becoming to be a win/lose platform(s). You can gain a lot of information through social media but also waste your time watching videos and reading articles that won't help you grow. Luckily this time around I learned something. I found an article off of Facebook about a brother that is doing his thing out in these work streets. Paul Carrick Brunson is a entrepreneur/ tv host that's shared dinner tables with great billionaires! He shared in a linked in post the few things that he learned while working with billionaires Enver Yucel and Oprah Winfrey.

Johnny Guitar Watson Heart for Music Foundation Celebration

"Superman Lover" by Johnny Guitar Watson will go down as an unforgettable record in music. The record was so phenomenal that it's still sampled and used in current songs today. Unfortunately, Johnny Guitar Watson passed away while performing this song on stage in China of May 17,1996. An unforgettable sequence of events for a unforgettable musician. That's why it was only right for EURWeb to attend the 1^stAnnual Johnny Guitar Watson Heart for Music Foundation Celebration red carpet located at the Los Angeles Theatre Center on May 17,2016.

The mission of the JGW Heart for Music Foundation (501c3) is to raise money to acquire musical instruments to put into the hands of our inner city youth, who show promise and focus in real music and then pair them with industry professionals who will mentor them to their musical destination. Watson's daughter Virgina Watson decided to continue her father's legacy through the great foundation which will ultimately effect the next generation of musicians.

Friends and family of Johnny had so much to say about the icon known as Johnny Guitar Watson. Eurweb's Coorespondent Jimmy V caught up with Doyle Bramball II on the carpet and he mentioned when referring to Johnny "he re-invented himself every decade". In a current state where staying up to date with constant changing trends is vital to ones' success Johnny was ahead of the game! From the blues, to jazz, to fu k records Johnny was able to adapt and capitalize on what's hot. And, that simple method of being able to adapt is what makes Johnny Giutar Watsons legacy so great!

The host of the night Kiki Shepard shared with Eurweb "how wonderful it was to celebrate The Most Influential Rock and Roll Music Legend that there is". Special guest and long time friend Lenny Williams left us with Johnny Guitar Watson's method of gaining power...picking up the check at dinner time! Johnny will forever be remembered.

Most Important Thing Readers Aren't Doing!

This week I plan on going out and purchasing Angie Martinez's new book "My Voice". If you've been following me for some time then you would know that I'm a huge Hip Hop fan. Angie Martinez is a radio personality for Power 105.1 who's been through it all! From infamous interviews with Tupac in the 90s to sitting down with J.Cole and discussing the "plantation mindset" now a days Angie always delivers Hip Hop to the people the best way it can be delivered. 

Today's blog post isn't about Angie Martinez though. Even though I plan on purchasing her book I want to touch upon what we forget to do when we finish reading any book. And that is to APPLY what you just read into your life. I've read numerous books over these past few years and I'm always ready to get a new one. As if I'm collecting books like Jordan sneakers. I always pick up a few things the book talks about then I move on. What I'm going to begin to do and I advise you all to do the same is slow down and take in what the book is sharing. Btw I'm referring to self help books that I majority of the time read. 

In the book "The Secret" I've taken the note of positivity and ran with that. I can personally say one of the few things I took from that book has made a difference in this year alone. That's what I mean when I say "APPLY" the information to your life. I plan on (and want you guys to join me) re-reading one of my many books already purchased and taking their advice and applying it to my life.

Why don't most readers already apply what they are reading to their life? Because it takes an effort to want to change and takes sacrifice. You know your Firday night plans could be more productive but you choose to go out and party. You choose to stay out until whatever time of night it is. Keep in mind in order to recieve different results you have to have different methods! So, if what you've been doing isn't giving you the results you want then you know you have to change the way you've been doing things. Sacrifice now for a greater YOU tomorrow! Put in the work...the reward will come later!

So far 2016 has treated me good.....

Its 5 o'clock in the morning over here in LA. Currently have my haitian brother Maxwell "Fortunate" playing on Pandora. I've been tossing and turning the past hour with so many different ideas going through my head so I decided to get up and type. I've been seeing visions in my head lately as if its my future talking to me. I've been making great relationships and connections in  2016 and its been a good year thus far. But, you know my goal is to have a GREAT year. Can't settle for nothing but the best.

Tonight I had my 4th show for the production Confessions of a H.O.E where I play the character King Don. It was a rough show this time around but I know my cast and I are gonna pull it together and finish it off strong. I got a nice compliment at the end of the show from a audience member and he offered me another role in one of his plays. For being my first theatrical play in Hollywood guess I can be an actor.

I shot my first movie called "Bella" that I had a small part in recently this past March. This month I shot a pilot called "Steele Justice" where I had a even bigger part role in.

I've been keeping this on the low but in July I have my own 1 hour show coming on a new app called Bidchat. I can't speak too much on it now but just know BYOD held it down and this is gonna be a game changer. I get to get my hosting on, feel me.

In speaking of hosting my red carpet skills have been getting better. Much more comfortable compared to when I first began. Just more evidence of when you try something over and over again you get better at it. Don't forget I have a studder too so thats been extra challenging. But, nothing to a big dog.

And, the blog has hit over 10,000 views. An accomplishment I'm proud to have.

Its safe to say GOD IS GOOD!

I usually don't share everything that I do cuz real G's move in Silence lol but I feel i'm at a point in my career where things are going to start to change. So follow me on all social medias below cuz shits about to get REAL lol. Because, the work I been putting in is getting noticed and it's time to capitalize. Patience is the key and IF YOU STAY READY YOU DON"T HAVE TO GET READY.

Last Weekend for Confessions of a H.O.E!

This weekend May 20-22 will be the final days for Confessions of a H.O.E. production featuring myself playing the character King Don and my beautiful cast. The shows will be held at the Complex Theatre in Hollywood. Show times go as follows: Friday and Saturday @ 8:00 p.m. and Sunday @ 2:00 p.m. This production features two different shows (Act 1 and Act 2) that shares an inspiring message of change. Black-ish Season 2 Episode 24

Yesterday, my co hosts and I covered the Aftershow for Blackish Season 2 Episode 24 at Afterbuzz Studio. This episode was the season finale for season 2 and they finished it off with a bang. With a new baby on the way the Johnson's begin to question whether they have enough funds and time for the baby. The episode pays homage to the 70s-80s classic TV sit-com "The Jeffersons". Confessions of a H.O.E

Tonight is opening night for the theatrical play Confessions of a H.O.E. starring a great cast including myself! This play is a two part series that shares a great story that many woman can relate too. Act 1 is about a young woman trying to get her education while still pay for her children's needs. So she is forced to sell her body for money. Act 2 is about a stripper who is tired of dancing for money so she decides to share her story. She pursues a career as a motivational speaker hoping to educate young girls about making the correct choices in life. She decides to use her negative as a positive which is the BYOD way!

Black-ish Season 2 Episode 23

Yesterday, my co hosts and I covered the aftershow for Blackish Season 2 Episode 23 at Afterbuzz Studio. I've repeatedly said the reason why I watch Black-ish is because 1. I'm black duhh!! lol 2. the writers speak on topics that we can all relate too. This episode was about getting sick and how to react to the sickness. I know I HATE getting sick and try to do everything to cure myself when I actually am sick. Much like I mention on the show my mother is my savior when it comes to when I'm sick. Major Release Party

New Artist Major held his album release party recently. He has two singles out currently "Keep On" ft. Kevin Mccall and "Why I Love You". I covered the event and the footage is below:

Major Key Alert! Major Johnson Finley also known as "Major" may appear as one the newest artist on the music scene but he's been working behind the scenes for quite some time now. With music credits in box office movies such as "Think Like a Man 2" Major is ready to show the world what he's made of. Family, friends, and supporters gathered together for Major's single release party and the stars came out. On May 6, Major released two singles: "Keep On" featuring Kevin McCall and "Why I Love You" along with two visuals for both songs. Both songs can be found through iTunes and Soundcloud. 

Producer and friend Harmony Samuels who is originally from London shared an endearing story about how the two met prior to Major hitting the stage and performing. Samuels compares Major's sound to the great Frank Sinatra. With an understanding of the music game and the direction it is shifting to Samuels knew Major will bring the sound that the game is missing! After working at a label and wanting to venture out on his own Samuels teamed up with Major and worked together for two years consistently. Now, the dynamic duo brings us a new sound of music which can be described as a mix of R&B and Funk! Major's supporters mentioned that he is quick to help others achieve their dreams but now is his time to achieve his dream.

Happy Mother's Day 2016!

I woke up today and felt a need to write a mothers day post. First of all Happy Mother's Day to all of the mothers out there. Special Happy Mother's Day to my own mother Jacquine Vibert. My mother is my pure motivation and inspiration to what I do. Who she is as a person and what she has overcome tells me that I can do anything I put my mind to. So in honor of my beautiful mother and the many mothers out there I want to dedicate my favorite two Hip Hop "Mother's Day Songs" to you ladies! Check them out below!

Also, special s/o to the single fathers out there who hold down their children. Single fathers deserve their just do for what they do for their family. Gary Vee BACK AT IT AGAIN WITH MORE KNOWLEDGE (MUST WATCH)

Gary Vee is back at it again with dropping gems!! This morning he was on my favorite radio station to listen to Power 105.1 Breakfast Club. Much like I mentioned in my prior blog post Gary is giving information to the audience straight up! I'm learning new information every time I watch a Gary Vee interview and I need my #BYODFAM to do the same! Wanna make a quick buck this weekend....go to the dollar store and purchase 7-8 items and post them on ebay. Flip a purchase from the dollar store to selling it for 8 bucks online. You may gain 5 bucks after shipping and handling and such but your gaining 5 bucks more than you didn't have! That was straight from Gary Vee....learn more in the interview below!

Who are you surrounded by?!?

What type of friends are you surrounded by? Do you have friends that will invite you out for drinks and a movie? I'm sure you do but I dare you to ask them this: will you help me study for my test? Will you help me study my script? What I'm trying to get at is do you have friends that will help you study and perfect your craft!?!

I can answer honestly that I don't have those friends. I have party friends at the moment. Living in Los Angeles, Ca you will come across many different people chasing their dreams, trying to find themselves, or just living in the moment. Over this past year I've learned the importance of surrounding yourself with people on the same mission as you are. I'm not trying to talk down on the people that I associate with in any way, but every person needs to look in the mirror at some point and ask themselves if the people around you are helping you pursue your goals and craft. If they aren't than its okay. YOU now know what you must change around you in order to get the right support needed to excel.
