Hey #BYODFAM if this doesn't put a charge in your back to get up and make something happen then idk what to tell you. I can only speak from a personal point of view but the words in this video are on point. I believe I was put on this earth for a reason. I believe my struggles and experiences are shaping me into an individual that will touch many. I believe that I will leave my MARK in this world. I, Jimmy V will be remembered! And, that's not from a cocky arrogant point of view. I just understand that my being on this planet is not just about me! I've been chosen as an example for others to learn from. And it's my duty to uphold that blessing and carry out my life message even though I may not fully understand what that is yet. Hip Hop Moguls Episode 3

Wassup #BYODFAM we're back at it again with these reality shows! Two weeks ago I introduced you guys to Hip Hop Moguls on BET. I told you guys I watch televsion shows that I can learn something from. So, the first episode was so interesting to me that I had to put you guys on to the show. The second episode was a snooze fest! Let me down smh! Now, we have episode 3. I can finally say I learned something.

In this episode, I picked up on a few jems but I want to speak about one specifically. Dame Dash explains that he invested one million dollars into his movie that he produced, directed, casted, and so forth. He met with Byron Allen who is a successful media mogul that's owns or once owned 7 networks. After Dame showed Allen his project he also shared how he invested his own one million dollars into this movie and needs to get that back. To sum up Allen's response he pretty much said one million dollars of your OWN money isn't needed to make a project. You can reach out to industry people who are willing to invest 800k of THEIR money. You may only have to spend 1/5 (200k) of your own money. Then, he shares a major key about using the movie soundtrack to influence others into investing into the project. Focusing on the soundtrack is a great tool that many people may overlook when creating projects. Often times the music is what brings us in as we watch the trailer to a show or movie. Plus, when you think about it the soundtracks to movies are what control are emotions throughout the movie. Ask yourself how many times you've watched a scary movie and jumped because of the music and sound effects playing? I'll wait....In the mean time here's episode 3 of Hip Hop Moguls: Hip Hop Moguls Episode 3

It's funny because Dame Dash went on the Breakfast Club back in 2014 raving about putting up your own money when creating projects. Now, he makes a valid point because that gives you 100% full creativity to do what you want. But, after watching this episode we see Dame calling himself an asshole for investing one million dollars of his OWN money and he hasn't seen any of that return yet. My question is why spend your own money when other people are willing to spend theirs and still give you the same creative control?

Also, Birdamn speaks about his situation with Lil Wayne that was highly publicized not too long ago. He said something about everything being planned and everything's been fine since the start. Pshhh I call BULLSH*T on that one for 500 Alex! (That was a jeopardy reference for y'all if you didn't know lol)

The Rise to Fame, 23 months behind bars, and a second chance. This is the new Micheal Vick Documentary

The time has finally come. If you're a fan of football than you should remember a player that wore the number #7 that changed the QB position. That's right calling all Micheal Vick fans!

Micheal Vick had gone from being the most loved player to the most hated player in a matter of 24 hours. In 2007, Micheal Vick was sentenced to 23 months behind bars for dog fighting chargers. Now, we finally hear from Micheal Vick in his new documentary that covers his rise to fame, time behind bars, and the 2nd chance that many don't get. Check the first part of the documentary here:

What did your favorite celebrity do in reaction to the recent killings this past weekend? Here is a list of entertainers that took a stand and expressed their thoughts through action or social media!!!

Celebrities/Athletes/Musicians are often looked towards when humanity is in a crisis. As I continue to live in Los Angeles, I am slowly shedding off the "yo! there goes (insert celebrities name!) mentality. The realization is these people that are famous are regular people! The difference between average joes and celebrities are their life and work are on display for everyone to view and judge. And, they have LARGE social media followings which mean followers are looking to them for advice and sometime leadership. Now, in a time where lives are being lost for the wrong reason I always wonder what reaction will we see out of our favorite celebrity/athlete/musician. Since my money goes towards their album sales, sneakers, and merchandise I want to know where they stand in tough times like this. My thoughts are: You say all this in your music...now what will you do in reality?!? Plus, I'll be damned if I support someone who doesn't support my same views. So, I did my research!

Since the unfortunately killings of Alton Sterling, Philando Castile, and the 5 cops in Dallas many people have been taken action in support of the #blacklivesmatter campaign. Some people have hit the streets to protest, others have expressed their thoughts through social media, then there are the people who stayed silent. I personally respect the man or woman that chooses to stand up for what they believe in whether their publisist or marketing team agrees with them. So what did your favorite celebrity do? 

Here's a small list of entertainers that have taken a stand and did SOMETHING! (These are the entertainers I found. There may be more)

1. The Game and Snoop Dogg came together to create Operation H.U.N.T and led a peaceful protest through the Los Angeles streets. Ultimately, leading to a meeting with LAPD and government officials. 

2. T.I was found in the streets of ATL leading a peaceful protest. Not afraid to stand off against the police. 

3. August Alsina was found in his state of Lousiana leading a peaceful protest in Baton Rouge where Sterling was murdered.

4. Ace Hood was found in Miami marching in a peaceful protest.

5. Carmelo Anthony went to Instagram writing a call to action for other athletes to take a stand while sharing his thoughts on the recent events.

6. Derry McKesson a known #blacklivesmatter activist who's been featured on Power 105.1 Breakfast Club was found protesting in Baton Rouge. He ultimately did get arrested for protesting. Not sure why though....

7. 50 cent took to Instagram and shared his thoughts on the police brutality and the Dallas killings.

8. Kevin Hart went fb live and shared his thoughts on the recent events that was shared over 100+ times.

9. Meek Mill took to Instagram and expressed his thoughts through many different pictures and personal experiences. He spoke about his time being a victim of police brutality.

10. Trevor Noah the host of "The Daily Show" used his platform to express "You can be pro-cop and pro-black". A stand that many people on social media are confused about.

11. Jay Z released a song previously recorded during the prior slaying of Mike Brown just 2 years ago called "spiritual". Also, created a playlist named "Songs For Survival" featuring songs from Kendrick Lamar, Outcast, Beyonce, and many more.

12. Beyonce took to Instagram to share her thoughts on the Dallas Shootings.

13. Chris Brown took to Instagram to share his thoughts and stated "We are Tired" referring to the murders of blacks.

14. Mack Wilds took to Instagram revealing an emotional video of himself crying in reaction to the recent incidents.

15. Lebron James tweeted his thoughts which were deleted afterwards. But, reposted Carmelo Anthony's call to action Ig post on to his Instagram profile.

From Peaceful protestor to enemy #1 on Americas Most Wanted List

In the midst of all the recent shootings in Dallas one man was put to blame for the shooting of 11 cops and 4 passing away: Mark Hughes (seen below)

Mark joined the "Americas Most Wanted" list in a matter of seconds after the shooting began in Dallas. Why is he being interviewed and not in jail you may be asking? Well after 30 hours of being interrogated the police put the blame on the WRONG Person! Now his face is everywhere on social media and is receding death threats from all over. Racism in America is revealed once again! #Blacklivesmatter PodcastEpisode

America has experienced a very trying time in these past 48 hours. Two black lives have been lost AGAIN in the hands of "authorities". R.I.P to Alton Sterling and Philando Castile. Following these two murders another incident in Dallas,TX where 11 cops were shot and 4 have passed away. R.I.P to those fallen officers as well. This is the start to something horrible in the making. Tensions are high in communities all over the country. Innocent lives are being lost. As citizens, who do we turn to when authorities are gunning us down?

Black lives matter is what I type into my FB feed. A trending topic that's being heavily discussed but I type it as a statement. These incidents in Baton Rouge and Minesotta are being witnessed on the news and social media. The videos are serving as eye openers for those that are naive to the racism in the United States of America. Because we've seen this outrage numerous times before with familiar names like Eric Gardner, Tamir Rice, Freddie Gray, and many more. But, why is their still no justice for these killings. The officers go to trial and some mishap occurs resulting in a no conviction ruling!

I'm at a lost for words at times. I fear that the recent killings of officers is the spark needed to ignite the war amongst races in America. I say that because when us as blacks are the victims of crimes there is no change. When the roles are reversed and cops become the victims will we see a change in actions? Only time will tell...

I encourage discussion before action in any situation. Your next move is your best move is the common saying I like to use. So, recently my co-host and I had a special guest on our podcast From The East Sid With Love. We had David Raskin a New York crime attorney join in on this discussion on "what we need to do as people to stay clear of incidents with the police"? Great conversation lead to a great episode. Joe Budden back at it again with another Diss Track!

So, it sounds like Joe Budden is keeping pressure on Mr Aubrey aka Drake. Matter of fact he's using Drakes same formula a year ago when Drake went at Meek Mill. Does the line "I waited 5 days where y'all at" sound like anything you've heard before? If not, let me refresh your memory to Drakes song "Back to Back" when he says "I waited 4 days n*gga where y'all at?". See the resemblance there? Ok let's move on....

So after no response to his first diss track "Making a Murderer" (which can be found in previous blog posts) Joe Budden has released another diss track titled "Wake". This time Joe calls Drake out on being an entertainer and not a rapper. Also, takes a few shots at his word play. Is this enough to make Drake come out and play?!? Hip Hop Moguls Episode 2!

Last week I introduced you guys to a new show "Hip Hop Moguls". I was able to give you guys somewhat of a recap of episode 1 because it grabbed my attention. Recently, episode 2 was aired and I can't recall much lol. Maybe it's because I was tired or the fact I'm freezing at work ( someone better turn the AC off!) Uncle Buck Episodes 7&8 Aftershow

Jimmy V sits down and discusses "The Infiltrator" with Bryan Cranston and Benjamin Bratt

The Infiltrator is set to hit theatres this July 13, 2016. Bryan Cranston gives a phenomenal performance as he goes undercover in this drama filled production. Cranston plays Robert “Bob” Mazur, a U.S. customs official who goes deep undercover to infiltrate Pablo Escobar’s organization. A good actor can commit to a character. A great actor much like Cranston can commit to one character and become a whole different character and still thoroughly give a fantastic performance. In a time where Pablo Escobar is #1 on Americas Most Wanted list Robert Mazur goes undercover as Bob Musella a slick, money-laundering businessman. As he climbs the cliental list he makes important connections that will ultimately lead him to Pablo Escobar. Top Lieutenant Roberto Alcaino who is played by Benjamin Bratt falls right into Musella’s plan in turn leaving him feeling crossed by the end of this crime thriller. 

 

EurWeb’s correspondent Jimmy V sat down with both Bryan Cranston and Benjamin Bratt conversing about alter egos and the meaning of “winning”. Some may define winning as obtaining the most wealth. Others may define winning as obtaining the largest network. Cranston summarizes winning into being one of two things: feared or loved. A man like Pablo Escobar was both hated and loved but will go down as one of America’s biggest gangsters.

In speaking of gangsters, Jimmy V asked both actors what are their top 3 gangster movies. The results came back as The Godfather series leading as all time favorite. Must be where both actors got their inspiration from.
