Celtics Overcome a 26 point defcit and get the Win over James Hardens Houston Rockets

The young, but talented Boston Celtics pulled off a crazy Win two nights ago in Boston with the game ending in controversy. The C’s went head to head with the MVP front runner in James Harden, and the talented Houston Rockets of the West. The C’s started off slow in the contest while James Harden took off quick. With no Chris Paul in the lineup, Harden took advantage of extra shots to go around.

Harden had a strong first half but slow 4th quarter, due to Marcus Smart putting him on an offensive pause. Harden went 0-7 due to him being Smarts new assignment on the defensive end in the 2nd half. That switch helped the C’s swing back, cancelling out a 26 point deficit. Kyrie led the way in points scoring 26 with young hitta Jayson Tatum adding 19 points. But the keys to victory credits Al Horford and Marcus Smart’s will to win. Jayson Tatums layup to cut into a 3 point lead resulted in Smart drawing an offensive foul on Harden during the Rockets attempt to inbound the ball with 7.3 seconds to go. The Celtics went to Horford because of the match up advantage he had over Tarik Black. Horford muscled in a hook shot in with 3.7 seconds left to give the Celtics the lead, after trailing by +20 for majority of the game.

To put the sweet icing on top, Smart drew another offensive foul on James Harden during Houston’s next inbound, resulting in a Celtics come back for the ages victory. Irving and Smart lead the C’s in scoring and effort while Harden, and Gordon combined for 57 points but fell short.

Harden wasn’t too happy with the officiating stating after the game that ''You can't have two officials in a professional game,'' Harden said. ''There was a lot of no-calls that needed to be called because it changed the dynamic of the game. You got fast-break points, no calls, turnovers or whatever the case may be. This is a professional game on national TV. It can't happen.'' To me it sounds like the Celtics played with two refs as well so I can’t really give him pity on this one. The Celtics host Brooklyn Sunday on what should be a flawless victory.

End of The Year 2017 Recap

  The year 2017 has been a good year for me. There were both ups and downs but the good thing is I remember the UPs more than the downs. I grew a lot this year in a sense of mental, emotional, and spiritual growth. I began the year single, but ending it in a healthy relationship. I was able to accomplish one of my many goals which was traveling for work this year. And, I am very happy with everything that I was able to accomplish this year.

I was just looking back on all my work from this past year and wanted to share this post I made from the top of 2017: http://beyourowndad.blogspot.com/2017/01/2017-is-here-now-what-to-do.html This post has reminded me that there have been many people before me that have set out to "chase" a dream and are now living the dream. The few people I did mention have all gone through trials and tribulations in their career. The "major key" to take away is that those people mentioned continued on and kept trying. Despite all the no's and failed attempts.

I also wrote this post the final day of 2016 which featured my first vlog episode. I want to share this post as well: http://beyourowndad.blogspot.com/2016/12/from-working-graveyard-shift-to-being.html After watching my vlog from a year ago I've realized I need to get my "hunger" back. Hunger not in a sense of I need food, but the feeling I first had when moving out here to California. The feeling of grinding day and night to continue to progress forward and make my name in this industry. Toward the end of this year I've been relaxing it feels like but I'm ready to get back in the ring and grind it out!

In 2018 I'm going to be making my official directorial debut! I've been composing scripts for my BYOD Curriculum and in 2018 I will be putting those scripts into production. I'm very excited to take this step and level up in my career. Can't wait to hear the feedback from you guys. I plan to make 2018 to be filled with a lot of joy, experiences, growth, and happiness.

Now, 2018 is all about the level up! Bigger and better. So, that means I'll be asking alot from you guys. I need your feedback. I've been watching Gary Vee build his empire and I want to do the same. I need your likes, I need your comments, I need your feedback so I can build off of what you guys like and don't like. I need to build my social media profiles to reach a broader audience. End of the year show was LIT!!

The Stand Up Comedy Sit-Com Down show was LIT!!! aka a success for those not familiar with the lingo. All the feed back I've been receiving has been nothing short of a great show.I had to come thru correct as the host with my army fatigue fit. I was inspired by Method Man and Red Man. I watched them on the "Backstage" film where Hip Hop had its first tour and they had overalls on during their performances . Everybody was feeling my gear besides the comedians. They all joked on my fit like it was apart of their routines! But, it was all love at the end of the day because we all enjoyed the jokes and had a good time. One of my favorite acts of the night was Teddy Ray. He killed the stage.

We had a great turnout. Ended up having industry people in the audience which tuned the show into somewhat of a networking event.  S/o Jersey they were in the house. Fox Has A New Comedy Coming Janurary 2018 LAToVegas

                                               Win Big on Jackpot Airlines this January

What’s the easiest way to win big? Some would say travel to Las Vegas and gamble all your money on BLACK! Well, coming to the Fox network on January 2nd is a new comedy about everyday people trying to win big in life. “LA to Vegas” is the new TV comedy series that focuses on the flight crew and passengers of “Jackpot Airlines” which travels from Southern California to the one and only Las Vegas, Nevada every weekend. The flight crew attends to their passengers every need all while trying to figure out their own lives.

 

Jackpot Airlines is flown by Captain Dave (Dylan McDermott) who will ensure the flight will arrive safely at its destination….on auto pilot! The captain chooses to fly on autopilot so he can mingle, hit on, and become best friends with his passengers. Safe to say Dave isn’t your typical captain. The flight crew also includes Co-pilot Alan portrayed by Amie Talai, Stewardess Ronnie portrayed by Kim Matula, and flight attendant Bernard portrayed by Nathan Lee Graham. Passenger Artem portrayed by Peter Stormare is sure to give you an experience you can relate too while flying.

Plane Set To Head Back To LA

Fox set up a historic promotion in December 2017 for 50+ guests including myself to experience Jackpot Airlines for ourselves. Our day began at a meet up location next to LAX airport where we boarded a bus that transported us to a hangar where Jackpot Airlines was stationed. As a group we boarded the flight to Las Vegas and became the first group to ever watch a screening of a TV comedy series 30,000 ft in the air. After arriving in Las Vegas we partied and gambled at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino with the cast of the show for a few hours. Thanks to a complimentary $25 dollars to gamble I was able to bet and win some more at the blackjack tables. The traveling group and I took our winnings and got back on Jackpot Airlines and arrived back in LAX before our bedtimes.

How I was able to book a Facebook Campaign!

There currently is a social media ad floating around that I've been featured in. I want to share how I was able to be apart of this opportunity so my readers can make similar moves and capitalize on opportunities as well. Here are a few still images of the ad: 

This all came about by supporting one another on their journey. In 2016, I supported and joined  a Facebook group titled "Social Media Gold Mine" where the administrator would give the group members tips and advice on their social media content. The administrator (creator) of the Facebook group is Wesley Armstrong aka "Wuz Good". Wuz Good is a pioneer in my eyes when it comes to the social media world. Wuz Good and many others of his friends/business partners were the first to capitalize on creating content (videos) on the social media app Vine. They built their audience which opened up doors to working with different brands which is known as Influencer marketing now. Vine has came and gone; now Instagram and Facebook are the platforms where you will see a lot of content being created.

 So, to fast forward on how I was able to be apart of the social media campaign. If I didn't join the Social Media Gold Mine group and support it I wouldn't have been able to meet Wuz Good. After interacting with Wuz Good in the group I was eventually able to meet him in person in California. Some may say "I don't live in California so I couldn't meet him...but Wuz Good has even flown others out to network and be apart of the rising creators in SoCal. I believe a good deed always comes back around. Support others and they will support you. Just how the world works in my eyes.

Now, its summer 2017 and I run into Wuz Good at the gym. Didn't know we went to the same gym! After catching up and chatting it up he lets me know of an opportunity coming up and offers me to be apart of it. I say I'm down and the rest is history. Once again this opportunity would not have came about if I initially didn't join his Facebook group over a year ago. I joined looking to gain information for myself all while supporting what he was doing.

Denzel Washington Saves Roman J. Israel With His Performance

This past weekend, Uncle Snoop hosted a private screening starring Denzel Washington  (Fences, Training Day, Malcom X) in his latest film Roman J. Israel, Esq. at the Rooftop Cinema club above the Montalban in Hollywood, California.

The turnout was phenomenal. Drinks were flowing, popcorn was popping’ and a number of familiar faces were in attendance including Karen Civil, Affion Crockett, and Fonzworth Bentley. The Cashmere Agency was the PR Force behind the event, providing an outdoor movie experience full of warmth and comfort.

                Complimentary popcorn, candy, and drinks fitted the event just right as we found out about Roman J. Israel, an attorney of the Los Angeles criminal court system who takes a stand for the common man unlike many of his prestigious colleagues. Israel’s life takes a turn when his mentor of many years passes away.

A former student of his mentor, George Pierce played by Colin Farrell (The Killing of Sacred Deer, The Beguiled, and winter’s Tale) employs Israel at his law firm and it doesn’t take long until the two attorneys collide. Roman J. Israel makes a decision to give the name of a murderer at large in exchange for a reward of one hundred thousand dollars.

The film was geared to be a drama until a love interest played by Carmen Ejogo (It Comes at Night) falls for the strange Roman Israel. The storyline of the film is somewhat everywhere but the performance of Denzel Washington wasn’t as disappointing. Washington’s performance reminds his audience of the importance of treating another human being the same as you would like to be treated.

                Roman J. Israel directed by Dan Gilroy was released in select theatres on November 17 and will be nationwide this Thanksgiving November 23, 2017.

How To Stay Winning!

The “Stay Winning Connection” was held in Los Angeles this past weekend at Dream Magic Studios. This special event was hosted by EurWeb’s own multi-talented Robin Ayers who wears many different hats. Robin is an entrepreneur, author, host, public speaker, and mother of two beautiful twin girls. A woman with as many titles as Ms. Ayers is surrounded by supportive family and friends who filled up the Dream Magic Studios. A special guest panel Q&A featuring Laila Ali (American Gladiators, Home Made Simple), Jennifer Freeman (My Wife and Kids, You Got Served), Vanessa Simmons (Project Runway: Threads, Run’s House), Quincy Newell (Producer: Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain; Laugh at My Pain), Dustin Felder (Entrepreneur, Acting Coach), and Robin Ayers as moderator came together to answer the question “How to Stay Winning?”

  “Fear is the devil. Love is God” is what Dustin Felder shared as he began to explain how he succeeds in his career. Felder began his career in front of the camera, but now understands his calling is for work behind the scenes. Felder has active businesses in LA, NY, and now Atlanta. The idea of fear holds us back from even attempting to pursue something. Vanessa Simmons shared F.E.A.R for her is only an acronym that stands for False Evidence Appearing Real. I was able to summon up Ms. Simmons answer on how to stay winning by these three principles: 1. Strong vision 2.Focus 3. Discipline.

    Jennifer Freeman a long time friend of Robin Ayers shared a little about her own personal life. “We attract what we are” is how Freeman began to explain how she stays winning. Being able to understand our actions and why we do what we do is a major key to win. Freeman was able to create a balance between her personal life and career which now helps her pursue more goals. Quincy Newell talked about leaving a legacy for his family. “Everything we do, should be investing in ourselves and our families”. Another key to stay winning.

                Lastly, Laila Ali referred back to having a balance and that playing a major role in her success. “Success is a balance of being happily fulfilled spiritually, emotionally, mentally and staying healthy.” Laila Ali is an individual that doesn’t get enough credit for her consistent work ethic because of her name. Much like Vanessa Simmons who can relate to being air to the Simmons thrown. Children of successful parents in the entertainment industry have a stigma put on them that they don’t have to work for success because its’ already in their family.

 Someone like Laila Ali, who opened up her first business doing nails at the age of 18 with her own money wins in life because she expects to win. She has a strong mentality that many of us can learn from. Laila’s opponents in the boxing ring or life never mattered to her. Once she mentally decided she was going to put in the hard work that it takes to be successful then the winning will follow. Believe it and you can achieve it!

Revolt Music Conference 2017 at Edon Roc Renaissance Hotel

                                      Revolt Music Conference Succeeds Another Year

The 4^th year of the Revolt Music Conference was held this past weekend at the Eden Roc Renaissance Hotel in Miami, Florida. RMC is a conference that was put together to serve as a platform for those wanting to get into the music industry. The 4 day event began with the #BeHeard event in which artist are granted the opportunity to audition in front of some the music industries’ biggest names such as Vice Chairman of Revolt Andre Harrel, Producer The Dream, and more. Following #BeHeard the red carpet ceremony began outside of the hotel but was cut short due to unexpected rain fall. The RMC staff was well prepared and continued the conference inside. 

The opening ceremony began with Chairman of Revolt Media & TV Sean “Diddy” Combs inviting Mayor of Miami Philip Levine on the stage to announce October 12^th as official French Montana Day in Miami, Florida. French Montana began as an artist in the music industry and has expanded his brand while working closely with entrepreneur Sean Combs. Montana now has his own flavor and shares of Ciroc Vodka called French Vanilla. Following the announcement there were performances from King Combs (son of Sean Combs), French Montana, and Rapper 21 Savage. The conference was sponsored by the official alcohol of the Bad Boy Empire Ciroc Vodka.

Day 2 of the conference began bright and early with a networking breakfast hosted by the very popular morning radio show The Breakfast Club with Angela Yee and Dj Envy. The breakfast allowed attendees to get to know one another as they gear up for a full day of panels and speakers. Each panel that was put together covered a different area of the music business. The panel topics went as follows: “F*ck A&R: I can Do it All MYSELF”, “The Power of the Playlist”, “The New Record Business”, “The Influence to influence the influencer”, “I’ll Make You Famous”, “One Mic”, “I Am the Record Compnay: Going Indie”, and “Showtime White Famous: The Hustle is Real”. While the panels were being held there were performances going on in the rear of the hotel all day. It’s safe to say Revolt knows how to party and learn at the same time!

Day 3 of the Revolt Music Conference 2017 began bright and early as attendees wobbled into the first panel after attending the Revolt Yacht Party the night before. The first panel was titled “Atlantic Records Presents 1633” which was represented by Atlantic records marketing, promotions, and publicity managers. The Atlantic representatives spoke on their new 1633 program that allows new hip hop and urban artist to “get a focus and a shine on.” Prior to each panel closing the attendees are allowed to participate in a Q&A session where they get to ask a variety of questions to help direct their own endeavors in the right direction

During intermission breaks the performing stage outside at the party was getting rocked by new emerging artist. RMC 2017 was able to provide its attendees the best of both worlds: knowledge and a platform. When you weren’t learning about the music industry at a panel you could be outside by the pool listening to new music. They were performances by Buddy, B. Smyth, T.I. & Hustle Gang, and many more.

Back inside of the Eden Roc Hotel the following panels were put on: “Watch the Throne”, “How to Build Your Personal Brand in Corporate America”, “Hip Hop vs. Trump”, and Sean Combs’s State of the Union: How to Get The Bag.” Each panel was very unique in its own way but the Hip Hop vs. Trump panel was a great display of leaders in the hip hop community coming together as one with all the attendees to discuss the current political position that we are in. Rapper turned activists David Banner, T.I., and Mysonne spoke heavily on everybody using their platforms for change and not just celebrities. Everybody with a voice and/or active social media account has the opportunity to effect change. The first step is speaking out and the Revolt Music Conference allowed like minds to come together and do just that.

The Inside Look of Def Comedy Jam 25

" The Platform that Changed The Comedy Game"

History was made September 10^th at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Netflix is presenting a celebration in honor of the 25^th anniversary of Russell Simmons’ “Def Comedy Jam,” and many legendary comics came out to celebrate 25 years of success. Def Comedy Jam is the iconic show that brought black comedy to the forefront when other platforms at the time weren’t giving young comics with raw material an opportunity.  The Def Comedy Jam platform became a well respected circuit much like the Showtime at the Apollo theatre.  Martin Lawrence who was in attendance was the first host of DCJ. Lawrence helped create and spread the word that the place to be on a Friday Night in New York was to be at Def Comedy Jam. The platform became so powerful that it opened doors for up and coming comics who are now millionaires and legends in the comedy game.

                The special guests of the night were legendary comics such as  Martin Lawrence, Steve Harvey, Cedric The Entertainer, Dave Chappelle, Mike Epps, Katt Williams, JB Smoove, D.L. Hughley, Tracy Morgan, and Sheryl Underwood to name a few. All the comics may have not been as successful as they are now if it wasn’t for executive producers of Def Comedy Jam Stan Lathan, Russel Simmons, Sandy Wernick and Jesse Collins. The special night shared all the funny and raw moments over the past 25 years while honoring those that have passed through the show. Thanks to Def Comedy Jam, Bill Bellamy was able to teach everyone how to make a booty call while Adele Givens taught everyone “how to be a f*ckin lady”.

                While on the carpet Eurweb asked as many comics as possible “Without choosing yourself, who had the best stand up piece from the past 25 years of Def Jam Comedy?” The answers came rolling in and 80% of all comics answered that the legendary performance of Bernie Mac in which he wore his face on his jeans while telling the crowd “I ain’t scared of you mother*ckers” was the stand out performance. A sure piece that will never be forgotten and even Kid Capri (DJ of Def Comedy Jam) walked the black carpet while talking about the iconic performance with Bernie Mac.

Summer Comes To An End

Wassup #BYODFAM! It's been a little minute since I've updated you guys with whats going on in my world.  Last time I wrote you guys an open letter (honest post) might have been in July when I visited home (Boston) for the first time in 2 years or so. Now, its about to be September 1st tomorrow! The summer just came and its already over.

Well, ya boy is in a good head space right now! I'm not working at CBS anymore. Thats right no more OVERNIGHTS!! Since leaving that job I was able to sign with my first agency! My birthday was the 21st of this month so I was able to see another year on this earth. Thank the Lord for that. I've been booking and working on numerous sets. Paid btw I'm networking and staying productive. So, things have been looking up and I can honestly say I'm blessed.

Today, was a interesting day because I worked a show that was shooting at my old job! YES! @ CBS. I honestly was excited to go back and see my old co-workers. What I found out when I got there was my vibe and energy while being on the lot was different. Its changed from hating being there to enjoying my time there. And, the difference is because I was there doing what I enjoyed and wanted to do. There is such a change in your mood when your are somewhere doing what you want compared to being in that same location being forced to do stuff you don't even want too. And, don't let money be that deciding factor on whether you will be doing what you enjoy. For example, the show I worked today I was paid for. Now, if I worked the show while still being employed as security I would have gotten triple the pay honestly. But, I would have been miserable working it compared to enjoying myself for much less pay.

BTW the show I worked today was Ice Cube's Hip Hop Squares on VH1.. Its a Pretty funny show hosted by Deray Davis. A few of my favorite celebs were on it today: Charlamagne Tha God, T.I., Tony Rock, and Fat Joe. There was a few other special guest as well such as Eva Marcelle, Joe Budden & Cyn, etc....When the show airs look out for ya boy in the front row! lol See you guys next post.

Life Changes in Summer '17

Wassup #BYODFAM....
I feel like this will be one of those dear diary blog posts...

I haven't been blogging as much as I usually do compared to earlier in the year. But, a few things have changed since the beginning of this summer. I'm no longer working at CBS Radford studios as a security guard anymore. While working at Radford I often found myself in a negative space. Don't get me wrong I loved being on the studio lot and working different shows, but I wasn't getting along with a few co-workers. It was confusing because I get along with everybody! but everybody don't get along with me. But it is what it is. I refuse to continuously work with others that smile in my face and talk behind my back. I cant deal with the fake so I got out of there.

Now, I can fully focus on pursuing acting and hosting. This is something I've always wanted to do but was always worried about where the next check would come from. I've learned to focus on my skill and leave everything in Gods hands. (Thats what people say when they don't know what to do lol) Since leaving the job I was able to book 2 gigs! Prior to this booking I hadn't been booked since February or March! Isn't God good all the time.....may the church say: AND ALL THE TIME GOD IS GOOD! I know the saying goes something like that lol

Annabelle: Creation releasing worldwide August 11

In 2014, the world was introduced to Annabelle the supernatural horror film that served as a prequel to the successful blockbuster film The Conjuring which was released in 2013. Now, just years’ later director David F. Sandberg; producers Peter Safran and James Wan created the prequel to the first installment of Annabelle titled Annabelle: Creation.  The cast of this new film coming out in theatres everywhere August 11 includes Miranda Otto (Homeland), Stephanie Sigman (Narcos), and Anthony LaPagila (The Operative). Also, the next generation of up and coming stars Talitha Bateman (The Hive) and Lulu Wilson (The Millers).

Anthony LaPagila’s character Samuel Mullins is a former doll maker who lives at home with his wife Ester Mullins. The married couple opens their home to Stephanie Sigman’s character Sister Charlotte, a nun that looks after six young girls from an orphanage. After a few days at the residence, the new guests begin to experience an evil presence. This presence is a negative spirit that resides in a doll which becomes known as Annabelle.

The Annabelle: Creation screenings’ have had audiences from all around screaming and holding tight on to their seats. A few members of the cast admitted to being frightened after watching the final film in theatres. If you’re looking for a good scare this summer than make sure to go watch Annabelle: Creation being released in theatres August 11!

Valerian and the City of A Thousand Planets hit theatres Today July 21, 2017

Valerian and the City of A Thousand Planets is the latest adventure film from Director Luc Besson that is set to premiere in movie theatres worldwide this Friday July 21, 2017. The groundbreaking comic book series ‘Valerian and Laureline’ was the inspiration for this block buster summer film. The comic book was originally created by Pierre Christin and artist Jean-Claude Mezieres; its first publishing was for Pilote magazine in 1967 and was lastly published in 2010. The idea that began as a comic book then evolved into a feature film has some of Hollywood’s biggest and up and coming stars. The two leading characters of the film are portrayed by actor Dane Dehaan (The Amazing Spiderman) who plays Valerian and actress Cara Delevingne (Suicide Squad) who plays Laureline. The dynamic duo are special operatives that embark on a mission to the city of Alpha that holds a mystery at its center. The mystery is a dark force which threatens the peaceful existence of the City of a Thousand Planets. The two must not only save Alpha but the future of the universe as well.

                The world premiere for “Valerian and the City of A Thousand Planets” was showcased at the TLC Theatres in Hollywood, CA on July 17, 2017. It was a star studded event that brought out the cast members including Grammy Award winning artist Rihanna (portrays the character Bubble),French model  Aymeline Valade (portrays the character Haban-Limai), Russian model Sasha Luss (portrays Princess Pearl), and Producer Virginie Besson Silla. Other notable names that appeared on the carpet were Chris Tucker, Jeremy Scott, Kendall Jenner, Tara Reid, and more!

                Fun fact about the creators of the film is that Director Luc Besson and Producer Virginie Besson Silla have been happily married since 2004 with three beautiful children that were all present at the screening. The Besson duo has worked on numerous films together including Lucy, 3 Days to kill, and The Lady.  Be sure to check out Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets in theatres worldwide Friday July 21, 2017.
