Jimmy V on The Rap Game Season 3 Episode 3 Review & After Show | AfterBuzz TV

Even though we are only three weeks into the Rap Game Season 3 I can see Nova winning the entire competition. Granted my prediction at the start of the season was Baltimore's own Deetranada. (pretty sure I misspelled her name) Even though I do think she is very talented a lack of experience at this point is how others like Nova and Tally are beating her. Keep in mind though we are still very early in the season. I hope things start to switch up as far as the Hit List is concerned. But, Nova is killing the competition right now and deserves to be #1 for the 2nd week in a row. Check out the Official Afterbuzz Aftershow below:

The New Edition Story Biopic Full Movie (2017)

Wassup #BYODFAM! Growing up I was always a big fan of the song "Candy Girl" by New Edition. I always imagined myself singing the lyrics to the girl of my dreams. Ironically, I once had a girlfriend who's nickname was Candy so I always played the song whenever I thought of her. I've always had a big connection when it comes to music especially R&B music. After learning that the group New Edition was from Boston I became even more of a fan. Boston was always a half hour drive from where I lived in Massachusetts. Now, living in California Boston is what I refer to when I speak of home. Anyway, when I learned a biopic of the group was being released I was extra hype because I've always wanted to hear the back story of this legendary group. Well now we have it. A few of my favorite records besides Candy Girl by New Edition are: "Can You Stand The Rain", "Mr. Telephone Man", and "Cool it Now". I'm on the verge of watching the third installment after this post but both part 1 and 2 have impressed me. I've always told myself that I'm a rapper/singer in another lifetime LOL. I'd of loved to be apart of this biopic. I could see myself playing a young Johnny Gill or Bobby Brown (i'm dark skin lol) Anywho, check parts 1-3 of this dope biopic below!

Tom Brady's Press Conference After Being Suspended (Training Day Parody)

This next skit was inspired by all the extra controversy surrounding Superbowl LI. The media is looking for a story as always so I continue to see articles about Tom Brady and Roger Goodell. The final result of the deflate gate issue was that Tom Brady was suspended 4 games at the beginning of this season. Despite not having the GOAT Quaterback Tom Brady the Patriots went 3-1. After his return the New England Patriots finished the season with a 14-2 record and are now on their way to ANOTHER Superbowl. So, many articles being published are about Tom Brady getting revenge against Roger Goodell by winning the Superbowl even when Goodell did everything to stop him from being successful this season. With that said this is what would of happened in my head if I was Tom Brady LOL. Check it out:

King Roscoe of Atlanta, GA Talks Life After Being On Season 3 Of The Rap Game

The ATL MC King Roscoe joined us in studio via Skype to talk about his experience on being on The Rap Game Season 3. During filming Roscoe was a 12 year old hoping to make a name for himself. I have a good feeling about King Roscoe. After watching the young MC on the past two episodes and speaking with him during the interview he is focused and has a great work ethic. I'm really interested in watchig his transformation the next few years. As an adult I now know those teenage years are filled with many interesting experiences. A young brother like King Roscoe has personality and confidence. That's all he needs to impress the many people in his DMs Lol. We shall see what the future has King Roscoe!

Young Jimmy V's Entreprenurial Advice

So a few days ago I posted a video of Gary Vee being Interviewed on the Breakfast Club. I just finished re-watching the interview because he drops so much great business advice that I had to watch it again. I strongly advise you to go watch that interview now!

Anywho, he speaks about flipping items on eBay and at work. And, two great memories came to mind from when I was younger and I wanted to share it with you all. First memory is a young Jimmy V in the 3rd or 4th grade. I was one of a few students in my class that knew my multiplication tables. I mean I knew them like the back of my hand!(I wrote a previous blog post around the game "Around The World" that explained how I learned my multiplication tables.) I was so good (my personal opinion) that I began to charge my classmates a dollar or two so I can "teach" them how to study their multiplication tables. (If your good at something...charge!) I remember going home with a pocket full of money and my mother flipping out on me because she didn't know where the money came from. Point of that story is you can provide a business service of whatever you're good at to somebody that wants to learn! So, take that story and apply it to an aspect in your life.

In this second story we're going to revisit Jimmy V in the 8th grade. Every year there was an end of the year field trip to the Musuem of Science in Boston (I think that was the destination). Now, in order to go you had to pay money for the bus fee, ticket fee, and lunch. Now, I come from a single parent home so I never wanted to go home asking my mother for money for a "field trip". She had more important things to pay for. So, the alternative in my mind was to fundraise the money through the "cookie dough" program the school had set up. The way it worked was you sell a certain amount of boxes of cookie dough and in return your fees for the school trip was paid. So I ended up selling the most boxes out of everyone and was able to pay for the trip. But, what I want you guys to take away from this story is how I sold the most boxes. Instead of going to my mother and asking her to purchase boxes (I already knew the answer to that lol) I decided to approach every teacher I knew. I approached the teachers after school when it was most conventiant so I wasn't interrupting them or anything. After explaining to the teachers why I approached them they would  agree to buy or told me to come back on Friday. (payday!) It's hard to explain but it just clicked in my head to approach teachers because I knew there job was to teach! So I know they were getting paid for it lol. So, what I want you guys to take from this story is when you have a product do research and go to where the money is. Put in the work ahead of time to make it easier on yourself later.

Jimmy V Debuts His New Relationship Advice Show DMC!

Yo #BYODFAM check this I had the loooongest day. I had about 3 hours of sleep after getting off of work this morning. I had to get a haircut to get ready for my day and feeling right. After my haircut I had a photo shoot with my photographer Mike for my new Headshots. 

(Photos will be posted in a later blog post) After killing those the team and I got together and shot two new sketches. Which are gonna be hella dope. After the acting sesh I hit the studio to debut my New Relationship Advice show "DMC" (Dating, Mating, and Communicating) which can be found below. Following the taping of the show I had to hit the gym to get these gainz in because 2017 is all about the LEVEL up! Then, after the gym sesh I went back home to shower and get ready for my work shift which I'm currently at now. And, will be here until 8. So, in conclusion today was a pretty exhausting, tiring, LIT day for ya boy. But, no complaints here (besides this wack ass job) because I'm doing what I always knew I'd be doing. The Rap Game Season 3 is back!! I've come to really enjoy being on this Aftershow Panel because I have a connection to Hip Hop. And, being able to discuss with my co host the future emcees of the rap game is dope. This season the competition is the best it's ever been. We have 5 young spitters ready to prove their talent to Jermaine Dupri and his team. Episode 1 was pretty LIT. Rapper and soon to be legend FABOLOUS appeared on the first episode. Aww RATCHET MONDAYS!!! I've said this multiple time on the Aftershow: "This show is hooorible but so entertaining!" Do you guys remember when your parents would tell you that eating too much candy will give you a stomach ache!?! And, you still did it and you eventually got a stomach ache. That's howI feel about Love and Hip Hop New York at this point. I watch this again and again and I know it's effecting me negatively lol. Jimmy V Vlog 3- The sit down with a Hip Hop Legend

As I type this it is Sunday January 15, 2017. Tomorrow is Martin Luther King Jr. Day. I plan on writing a post that's specifically observes the holiday and what it means to me. I'm low key disappointed because I filmed the whole week of working on sketches and going to auditions but the video on the Go Pro didn't come out. It was corrupted by the time I went to edit the footage. So, the only footage I have is of Monday of last week. I plan on fixing the Go Pro this week so I can deliver more footage to you guys. The Joy of Failing and What It Does For You....

THE JOY OF FAILING......

There was a young boy by the name of Micheal and he was in the third grade. Mike (short for Michael) wanted to defeat his classmates in the class room game "Around The World". For those of you unfamiliar with the game: "Around The World" is when one student challenges another student competitively answering a triva question. The student that answers the question correctly FIRST will advance to the next student in line and so on until you defeat every other student. The first student to defeat every other student will have gone around the world.. Now, multiplication tables was the theme for this specific week.  Unfortunately, Mike wasn't always the best mathematician. But, Mike waited anxiously in his seat for his turn to play. The current student "traveling" around the classroom approached Mike's desk and it was his time to shine. Mike stood up side by side with the other student and the multiplication problem was given. Mike stood there....frozen! He didn't know the answer. He had a face of defeat and the other student raised his hand and answered the question correctly. Mike had to sit down and watch as the other student advanced. Mike became confused because he didn't think it would be hard to compete in this game. So, he brushed it off and said "i'll win tomorrow."

Tuesday came and it was.day #2 of "Around The World". Once again Mike waited anxiously in his chair for his turn. The traveling student approached his desk and there he was again....side by side with the competition. The question was given and boom! Mike became frozen like an ice cube with defeat on his face again! He watched as the other student raised his hand, answered the question and moved on. Mike was emotionally hurt this time around. "WHY CANT I MOVE ON! he's cheating! he's cheating" complaining to the teacher. The teacher Mr.V stood there listening to Mike complain and make excuses as to why he couldn't get past his own seat! Mr. V said "Mike you need to prepare by studying your times tables". Now, young Micheal was a bit of a hard head. He didn't like to listen, but he didn't like to lose more. So, that night he went home and asked his older brother for help. The brother proceeded to help him and together they made multiplication flash cards. Mike only wanted to move on from his seat so he made cards for the multiplication factors for 2s and 3s only. Seeing how in the past two days his only two multiplication problems have been of the 2s or 3s factors he felt like that's all he needed to practice. Hoping those would be the mathematical problem for the next day.

 Now, Wednesday Day #3 of "Around The World" came and it was time for Micheal to progress from his seat. Mike stood side by side with his competition and before the teacher finished asking the multiplication problem Mike raised his hand. "Yes mike what is the answer" the teacher asked. Mike's face lit up like a light bulb and he began to smile slowly. He can feel his feet moving forward from his seat and then silence came about the room.."Mike you raised your hand...what's 9x7"? Once again, defeat came over him again! The other student raised his hand and answered the problem and advanced on. "Take a seat mike" the teacher said. After hearing that Mike became very frustrated. Anger began to build all throughout his body, anger became tears and he yelled at the top of his lungs "I give up, I give up! I hate this game!" The teacher asked Mike to stand outside the classroom.

The teacher stepped out of the classroom and asked Mike "What's a matter, did you study like I told you too? Mike responded saying "Yeah!". The teacher followed up with "Then what happened?".  Young Mike began to cry sobbing to the teacher "You didn't ask for the 2s and 3s, those were the ones I studied." Mr. V responded saying "Mike...the multiplications are not only 2s and 3s, buddy you need to study all numbers. Listen if you're going to do anything in life you have to put in 100% effort! If you only put in 30% you will fall short just like what happened inside. Hey, pick your head up and come back stronger ok buddy! Mr.V gave him a pound and young Mike walked back into the class and to his seat. As he sat down he could hear his peers giggling and laughing. One called him a cry baby. And, THAT was the last straw for young Mike!

That evening Mike went home and studied the 0-9 multiplication tables. He decided not to play with his ipad once getting home, but he did watch his favorite afternoon cartoons. After dinner he stayed at the table a little longer than usual because he was tired of studying so much.

The following day Thursday came aka Day #4....same class, same seat, and the same game. Mike's turn came about and he was side by side with the competition once again. The student that's been winning the past few days smirked as he glanced at Mike. He whispered to Mike "take a seat I got this" but this time it was different. Mr.V began asking multiplication questions "students what's 8x7"?  Mikes hand rose up and he yelled out "56!!!" The teacher replied "Yes, Mike you are correct!" Finally, Mike advanced from his seat. Mike felt like he just won some ice cream! He smiled so much his cheekbones began to hurt. He screamed out "I did it! I did it!" But it wasn't over. He moved on to the next student who was just as hungry as Mike. The teachers asks: "what's 10x12?" Mike couldn't believe it. His smile vanished. His stomach turned because he didn't know the answer. The student he was competing with answered and advanced from his seat. Mike had to sit down where the former student was. Mike became sad as if his soul died and the teacher Mr. V could see it in his eyes. After the game Mr.V spoke to Mike and said "it's good you got past your seat" and Mike replied saying "yeah, but I didn't go around the world and I studied 0-9!" Mr.V responded by saying "want to know why?" Mike nodded up and down. "It's because other students studied the 0-12 multiplication tables. Mike there is always another person working twice as hard as you. So, Mike there's one day left of the game (takes a pause)...what are you gonna do?" Mike left the classroom without answering and went home.

That night at home Mike studied the #0-12 multiplication tables all night. No video games were played, no cartoons were watched, and Mike even missed dinner that night to study.

Friday aka Day #5 came and it was Mikes last chance. The game began and he was the third student in line. The winning student approached Mike's desk. Mr.V asked the mathematical problem and Mike answered it correctly, he advanced. Mike stood beside the next student and Mr.V once again asked the mathematical problem and Mike answered it correctly and advanced on.. Then the next student, and the next student and so forth.

DO YOU SEE WHAT HAPPENED WITH MIKE?!? He failed so many times that it began to hurt him internally. Even when he began to advance in the game he still had to deal with losing! When we fail we tend to give up. Many of us get strike one and throw the bat away. (baseball reference) Mike didn't only leave from his seat, but he failed and decided to grind even harder. We all have a Mike within us. We all become angered and frustrated when things don't go our way. But, the question is what are you going to do about it? Are you going to cry like Mike did? Are you going to put in half the effort to get half the results? Or will you give up? Only you can answer those questions!

So, what happened to young Mike at the end of that week? Let's just say he's still going around the world.....

Love & Hip Hop Season 7 Episode 8 Review & After Show | AfterBuzz TV

After a two week hiatus the Love and Hip Hop New York Aftershow is back in action. It felt good being back in the studio and on the mic. During todays taping I noticed a change in my confidence on the mic. I'm more firm with my statements and opinions. Just thinking back to when I first began hosting I was so worried about saying the right thing that I would disguise my true thoughts on a subject. 2017 is here! Now what to do!?!

Here we are HAPPY NEW YEAR #BYODFAM!..First day of 2017! It's time to put all that talk about what your GONNA do in the new year into action. One thing I've learned from 2016 is I was doing a lot of TALKING about what I would do but I wasn't executing. I wasn't putting in the action. Funny thing is many of us (including myself) talk about an idea or what we will do. We're great story tellers in a way.  But, like a few entrepreneurs that I look up to say "execution is worshiped". Winners work with other winners because they know they will execute! They don't just say they will do a project....they actually do it plain and simple. Dj Khalad wouldn't reach out to Jay-Z and ask to work with him and never follow up with: where, when, what time, what do you need to be available, etc..

I want my #BYODFAM where ever in the world you are to start this year off right with making a promise to yourself that you will DO MORE and TALK LESS. Oprah is successful because she's failed over and over again. Not because she thought of a single idea and that happened to work. J. Cole is one of the best rappers out because he's dropped numerous projects and they've all been #1 on the billboard charts. He hasn't only released one single record and quit. He's studied his craft and continued to make record after record until the record sounded the way he wanted it too.

Ok, lastlty I want you to read this blog post I wrote back on December 27, 2015! There is a total of 3 views on this post being Me, Myself, and I.
