Boston Celtics Defeat their Nemesis Cleveland Cavaliers 102-88 in their Second Match Up Of The Year

The Boston Celtics went into a prime time match up against their Eastern Conference rivals Wednesday night in Boston. Lebron James, and the Cleveland Cavaliers were excited about a special player returning for them going into the match up. Extra sauce and hype was added onto the game weeks before, anticipating that Isiah Thomas would return from injury in time to play against his old team. Thomas did return as expected the night before against the TrailBlazers, scoring 17 points, but decided not to go against the Celtics for his own reasons that I don’t blame him for whatever it is.

With no Isiah, Cleveland struggled early with the Eastern Conference leaders. Lebron and company failed to create offense as Boston tightened up the defense throughout the game causing Cleveland to shoot 34% from the floor. Lebron James of course lead the way for Cleveland, but with a under performing 19 points. His foe in green now, Kyire Irving didn’t have a much better night, having only 11 points.

Kevin Love for the Cavs was injured but struggled before hand having shot 1-11 up to that point of injury. Terry Rozier and Jayson Tatum lead the way for the Celtics ignoring that they were some of the youngest players on the court. Rozier came off the bench to cash in 20 points while Tatum finessed his way for 15. The Celtics pulled the win off 102-88 in a solid beat down due to sharing the basketball and tough scrappy defense. The Celtics will take on the talented Minnesota Timberwolves squad on Friday in Boston.
