BYOD-Joshua Johnson

Our past shapes our future but we have the power to change our future from looking like our past. I've came to the personal conclusion that our upbringings naturally create our character and attitude. I use the word naturally because its something that normally occurs and doesn't need any force behind it. The great thing about waking up everyday is we have the choice to not allow our upbringing to negatively effect us as we continue to progress in life. For example, Malcolm X was a person who grew up in a rough area and he became the product of his environment.  But, as he grew older he made a miraculous change from committing crimes as a youth to becoming a major figure in the civil rights movement. His upbringing shaped him but he overall made a change for the better.

My fellow host Joshua Johnson has a great story that I can relate too 100%. Joshua comes from a single mother home much like I did and this experience has molded him into the hard worker that he is now. Growing up Joshua saw others have more than what he had but he didn't forgot that others  had less. Even though his situation was a work in progress he didn't go blind to seeing what others less fortunate than him had. His mother and upbringing has made Joshua the hardworking man he is today and he always looks to "pour into lives of others who may not be as far along as you." Check out Joshua's story below!
