Rappers who are giving back

I'm not a fan of other blog outlets that expose entertainers for the negative that they do. It's like we as a viewer don't want to deal with our own problems so we feed into our favorite entertainers' problems to ease our own pain. When you think about it these reality shows that we see on TV like Love and Hip Hop get the greatest ratings when there is something negative being displayed on the show. Where is the positive!

Good thing is if you don't know...BE YOUR OWN DAD is all about negative to positive. So today, I will let you guys in on a few Rappers in Hip Hop that are dong positive things and giving back.

A latest Huffington Post video shared:
1. Chance The Rapper-He started a social media campaign to stop Chicago murders and gun violence. He has raised 100k to help Chicago schools in need.

2. Big Sean- Launched the Sean Anderson Foundation to help educate and assist children in Detroit.

3. The Game- Donated $1 million in water bottles To Flint Water Crisis. (I posted about this in an earlier bog post check it out here: The game looking for receipts
Also, started The Robin Hood Project which donated $1 million to people worldwide.

4. Kendrick Lamar- Donates hundreds of thousands of dollars to Compton schools and local charities.

5. J. Cole- Started the Dreamville Foundation to support urban youth.

6. Drake- Donated 75k to create a music studio at Philadelphia high school

7. Nelly- Has sent two students to college every year for the last TEN years

My favorite rapper J. Cole has always put on for the Ville and it looks like he's not the only one giving back.
